The North American Friends of Chawton House Library (NAFCHL) is an independent US-based volunteer-run non-profit and a registered 501(c)(3). All but approximately 4% (for administrative costs) of NAFCHL donations go directly to Chawton House Library to support its ongoing work of fostering greater awareness, understanding, and research into early women’s writing. Your donations help to maintain and develop the Library’s unique collection of manuscripts and books, sustain the house and its gardens, and support the varied programs of exhibitions, lectures, conferences, and tours – all to ensure that the work of these women writers lives on.
Our Board of Directors includes: Joan Ray (President), Janine Barchas, Deborah Barnum, Linda Dennery, Bobbie Gay, Isobel Grundy, and Janet Johnson.
As the Library is experiencing a pivotal transition to self-sufficiency, all donations to NAFCHL will be applied to the Oxygen Funds Campaign, which will put your money where it is most needed. Please be as generous as you can.
