‘My research at Chawton House Library was pivotal in completing my manuscript’

Professor Lisa Kasmer, Clark University, Massachussets

Chawton House Library is an internationally-renowned research institution, working in partnership with scholars and universities across the globe.

Our Visiting Fellowship programme enables academic researchers from all over the world at every stage of their careers to pursue research on the Library collections during a month’s residence in this tranquil location.

The MA in Eighteenth-Century Studies run by Southampton University in partnership with Chawton House Library enables postgraduate projects, including interdisciplinary work, that draw on the Library collections.

The Chawton House Library Series, published in participation with Pickering & Chatto makes many of the rare books in the collection available as new scholarly editions.
