Chawton House and Gardens are now open everyday, 10am-4:30pm. Last admission to the House and Gardens is at 4pm.

We will not be offering refunds on tickets but please let us know if you can no longer visit at your allotted time so that we can offer it to others. Annual ticket-holders will be able to re-schedule their slot without extra charge.
INFORMATION FOR PASS-HOLDERS
All pass holders will be required to book their house entry online. Follow the links and select your pass-type from the options. You must show your pass on arrival, or your booking will not be valid.
Annual Tickets
For new visitors, you can visit on a very reasonable annual ticket at £20 for adults, which will be valid for one year from the date of your first visit. There is no charge for children under 6.
Neighbour Passes
We continue to offer free entry to our neighbours living in Chawton and Farringdon, please contact us on info@chawtonhouse.org if you require a pass. You will need to pre-book your entry in advance online.
Historic Houses Members
Historic Houses members are welcome to visit for free as part of their membership. Book online in advance and select ‘Historic Houses’ as your ticket-type. IMPORTANT: you will need to email info@chawtonhouse.org with your membership number(s) ahead of your visit.
National Art Pass Holders
National Art Pass members are welcome to visit for half price as part of their membership. Book online in advance and select ‘Art Fund’ as your ticket-type. You will need to show your membership card to gain admission.
Gardeners’ World 2for1 Cardholders
Gardeners’ World Cardholders are welcome to visit on the 2for1 offer (valid on day tickets only). Book online in advance and select ‘Gardeners’ World’ as your ticket-type. You will need to show your card to gain admission.
Hampshire Top Attractions voucher
We offer a “buy one get one half price” discount to anyone who brings a Hampshire Top Attractions voucher with them to Chawton House. You can get a voucher on the Hampshire Top Attractions website.
CAR PARKING
Free parking is available on the main road when the dead end car park (operated by Chawton Parish Council) is closed. Please drive through the village to get as close as you can to the bottom of our driveway.
There is another car park in the village (opposite Jane Austen’s House). Both car parks are free of charge.
There are some accessible parking spaces behind Chawton House, please contact us on 01420541010 or info@chawtonhouse.org to let us know if you require these at the time of your booking.
ON ARRIVAL
Tickets will be checked at the tea shed located on the driveway.
Please have your name and any relevant membership cards or passes ready.
DOGS
Dogs are welcome in all outside areas but must be kept on a short lead. There is a water bowl in the courtyard if they get thirsty, and dog treats are available from the Old Kitchen Tearoom. We ask all dog owners to clean up after them and use the dog bins provided.
TOILETS
The outside toilets are accessible and will be open for visitors to use at their own risk.
The toilets will be cleaned at the start of each day and hand-washing facilities and sanitiser will be replenished. To allow for safe social distancing, we will only allow one visitor at a time into the ladies toilets – despite their being 3 cubicles. Please queue outside by the markers.
THE OLD KITCHEN TEAROOM
The Old Kitchen Tearoom and Courtyard are open seven days a week, 10am-4.30pm. Last orders are at 4pm.
We will be operating a table service with visitors able to order food and drinks on a first come first serve basis. Please note, indoor diners are restricted to groups of 6. We offer seating for larger groups in our Courtyard.
You can also purchase food and drink for takeaway at the Parkland Pantry, outside the Chawton House gates. See below for details.
Alternatively, why not order cakes from the tearoom to be delivered by post from our house to yours?
THE PARKLAND PANTRY TEA SHED
The Tea Shed is open seven days a week 10am – 3pm (except during extreme weather).
