Enjoy a three-course meal in Chawton House, frequented by Jane Austen and known to her as the “Great House”.
Each recipe is taken from Martha Lloyd’s cook book, friend to the Austen ladies and who lived many years with them in the cottage in Chawton village.
Enjoy culinary delights including a white soup, a favourite of Mr Bingley’s and chosen for his ball at Netherfield Park, sample a taste of the Far East with Martha’s “curry after the India manner” and finish with an orange cake, to complement the orange wine being served at Jane Austen’s House.
This unique opportunity to dine like Jane is wonderfully complemented with the Gin Austen event being held the same evening at Jane Austen’s House.
