A Family Literary Festival at Chawton House – 16 September
10.30am – 6pm
We are working in partnership with STORYSTOCK to bring a family literary festival to Chawton House for the first time ever! This exciting day event is a celebration of stories in all their myriad forms, and encourages a love of reading in the next generation. There’s so much to do! From drama, singing and writing workshops to author talks and treasure hunts in and around the inspirational house and grounds of Jane’s ‘Great House’.
The exciting programme includes a wide selection of performances /talks and activities within the general festival ticket. The ticket price of £20 (Adult), £15 (Child) will include admission to the house and grounds, access to the Big Top, Little Top, Craft Tent and free workshops, displays, stalls, storytelling, yoga, treasure hunts and dressing up throughout the day. All shows inside the house will be ticketed at £15 – and these will be workshops in creative writing sessions, illustration drawings, drama master classes and magazine journalism.

STORYSTOCK is a travelling circus of stories that brings stories to life for primary school children and their families.
Our aim is to stimulate and encourage literacy and a love of reading, writing and listening to stories.
We have been producing storytelling festivals in London and around the UK since 2012. We have held events in Saatchi Gallery, Wilderness Festival, Royal Opera House, Selfridges, Bush Theatre, Lyric Theatre, Omnibus Theatre and Battersea Power Station.
Past authors and speakers at STORYSTOCK include Benedict Cumberbatch, Michael Morpurgo, Judith Kerr, Lauren Child, Chris Riddell, Jan Blake, Malorie Blackman, Joseph Coehlo, and a wide range of illustrators and various workshop practitioners – from Bright Lights Drama, the Riverside Performing Arts Company to StoryPocket Theatre. Creative writing partners are All Write now and Keystone Tutors.
