Celebrate VE Day with one of our smashing afternoon Tea boxes!

On Saturday 8th May you will be able to receive or collect a delicious home-made 1940s-themed Afternoon Tea in a box comprising of:

  • A selection of savoury treats: mini sausage rolls, mini sausage and egg pies and cheese tartlets
  • Homemade potato scones with butter, cheddar cheese and rhubarb chutney (made in a ‘grow your own’ spirit with produce from the Chawton House Garden)
  • A mini cake selection including jam tarts, carrot cake and orange cookies.
  • Your choice of Teapigs tea, coffee or hot chocolate (we supply the ingredients, you supply the hot water!)

Also included will be an information pack about life at Chawton in WWII, including anecdotes, images and some recipes for you to try recreating the box at home.
