As we pack away HomeMade Histories: Letters, Art & Embroidery, we’re giving visitors one last chance to get up close to some of our favourite objects from the exhibition.
Join a member of the curatorial team in the Library for a short, 15-minute close-up with five remarkable objects as they come off display. Discover beautiful botanical studies, 200-year-old scrapbooks and journals, extraordinary children’s artwork and intricate embroidery – and hear the stories behind them.

- Miss Smith’s Studies of Flowers (1817)
- Mary Yelolly’s Picture History of the Grenville Family
- Susan Caroline Drummond’s sampler (1841)
The exhibition rooms will be closed while we install our next exhibition, Dressing Up, but these special pop-up talks offer a final chance to encounter some of the manuscripts in our collection before they return to the shelves.
