Reading Women’s Writing: A Celebration of Fellowships at Chawton House

Join us as we celebrate five years since the relaunch of the Chawton House Fellowship programme with a special day dedicated to the research our Fellows have undertaken over the past five years.

Since the programme was re-established in 2021, Chawton House has welcomed 36 Fellows from around the world, each bringing fresh perspectives to our collections and helping to deepen our understanding of women’s writing, history, and material culture. This event offers a unique opportunity to discover how research at Chawton House continues to shape exhibitions, public programmes, publications and future scholarship.

Throughout the afternoon, visitors can explore a series of pop-up displays across the House showcasing Fellowship research alongside collection items, while a programme of short talks in the Library will introduce some of the fascinating discoveries and projects inspired by our Library and archives.

Displays and talks are included with House and Gardens admission.
