Are you a postgraduate or early career researcher working on early women’s writing?
We are delighted to announce that we are now receiving applications for our 2022 Fellowships. If you’ve struggled to find the space, time and resources for your research during the pandemic, four weeks at Chawton House will help you get back on track. You will have access to the collections, including the extensive secondary criticism housed in the library, as well as a dedicated workspace in our peaceful Upper Reading Room, and onsite accommodation.
This year, we are offering six residential fellowships for postgraduate or early career researchers (within 5 years of PhD) working on women’s writing of the long eighteenth century. These fellowships have been made possible by a generous donation from the Ardeola Charitable Trust.

2021 Fellows: Charlotte Goodge, Alison Daniell and Sabina Akram.
Fellowship dates:
Cohort 1: Monday 18 July – Friday 12 August
Cohort 2: Wednesday 2 November – Friday 2 December
