Following on from our monthly Patchwork Club, which ran throughout our HomeMade Histories exhibition, Chawton House is starting a monthly creative hand-sewing club. Our sewing club meetings are informal, with all levels of skill welcome.

Over the year, we will create an embroidered wall-hanging inspired by Chawton House and the collections.

Session Details

From October 2026 – June 2027, we will meet in the Cross Room on the first Friday of every month, 10am-12pm.

Sessions will be run by Wendy Harris and Linda Tindall. Tea and coffee and limited materials provided.

Please note: Sewing Club takes place at the top of the House and is accessed via several flights of stairs. Unfortunately, there is no lift access. If you have any questions about accessibility or would like to discuss your requirements before signing up, please contact us.

You are welcome to attend all sessions, or drop in as suits your schedule. To help us with numbers though, please sign up here: Chawton House Sewing Club – Fill out form
