Our patron, best-selling author, Joanna Trollope OBE, is the latest writer to endorse our campaign to Reimagine Jane’s ‘Great House’.

She says:

‘Chawton in Hampshire means a great deal to Jane Austen fans, because she wrote her six published novels in a cottage there. But did you know about Chawton’s Great House? Which her brother Edward owned and where she often went to dine, in company with her family? It’s a fascinating Elizabethan house in itself, with some important Austen heirlooms, including books that we know Jane read. But it now also houses a unique collection of early writing by women – a library of which Jane herself would thoroughly approve. It would be wonderful if you could support the fund raising campaign to secure and enhance this remarkable place, for today, tomorrow and long into the future’.

If you’d like to join Joanna in giving your support to our campaign, please donate here and/or visit our fundraising page to find out how you can help.
