We are celebrating the Summer Holidays and the beauty of our Gardens throughout August, with new trails to keep our younger visitors busy, and games available on the South Lawn for families, including croquet, giant jenga, and connect 4.
Pick up your games from outside the South Door.
New Trails
Go butterfly hunting in our Gardens this Summer. Take part in the national butterfly conservation count during the first week of August, or pick up on of our butterfly activity sheets. Choose from a further selection of plant hunter or parkland trails for outdoor explorers, or on rainy days, seek out some of Chawton House’s secrets in our Hidden History trail inside the House.
Arts & Crafts
Inspired by Chawton in Stitches? Take a seat in the Oak Room and have a go at embroidering your own wooden flower. Or try your hand at writing a postcard with a hand-cut quill pen in our Writing Room.
