Make your festive visit to Chawton House extra special this season with a magical literary experience inspired by Jane Austen’s most beloved works.

Join members of Alton Fringe Theatre for a delightful progressive performance that will lead you through our historic rooms. Starting in the Great Hall, as you move from space to space, you’ll be immersed in a series of live dramatised readings that bring Austen’s wit and warmth to life. Featuring highlights from Northanger Abbey, Pride and Prejudice, Emma, Persuasion, and Sanditon, this 40-minute performance blends humour, romance, and a touch of the theatrical flair Austen herself adored.

Whether you’re an Austen devotee or discovering her works for the first time, this is a unique opportunity to experience her writing performed in the atmospheric setting of the House she knew.
