Wednesday 24th April 2024

Venue: Chawton House

1-3.15pm

To celebrate our 20th year of opening, our exhibition Treasures of Chawton House displays some of the most precious objects in our collection. Through them, we tell stories of the Knight family, owners of Chawton House for 450 years, the Jane Austen connection, and the unique collection of early women’s writing held in our Library.

In the final month of opening, join Deputy Director Dr Kim Simpson on a Curator’s Tour of the exhibition, exploring never-before-displayed objects, new acquisitions, old favourites, and items unique to Chawton House.

Afterwards, enjoy a traditional cream tea of freshly-baked sweet scones, clotted cream and jam, with Breakfast tea or filter coffee.

Tickets: £22 (this includes Cream Tea and entry to the House and Gardens) | £10 for Annual Ticket & Neighbour Pass Holders
