Imagine buying a book, but being able to choose its cover. In the Long Gallery, find out how people chose to personalise their books, with typical examples of bindings from the 17th to 19th centuries, culminating in the most elaborate and beautifully bound works in our collection.
In the Library, we celebrate the act of giving books as gifts with examples of gifts from parents to children, from aunts and grandmothers, between siblings and friends.
