Learn traditional patchwork techniques in this one day workshop, and leave with your own embellished needle case!

Join local textile expert Linda Tindell in a one-day workshop to learn traditional patchwork techniques. The course is suitable for all those that can thread a needle and have very basic sewing skills.
Inspired by the new exhibition, HomeMade Histories: Letters, Art & Embroidery, Linda will show you how to make an embellished needle case. Using hand stitching methods you will be shown/learn:
· the basic techniques of traditional patchwork
· to quilt layers together
· to embellish your product
· to bind/finish your product
All equipment and materials will be provided but if you require a thimble please bring your own. The workshop will take place in the Billiards Room.
This will be a full day workshop with a 30 minute break for lunch at 12.30pm. Tea, coffee and biscuits will be provided throughout the workshop, but please bring your own lunch or visit our tearoom.
Tickets: £40pp including House and Gardens entry, all materials and refreshments.
We are also offering a monthly club that will explore further embellishing and patchwork methods and an opportunity to share more artistic techniques with the group. The first session is on the 1st May, 11am – 1pm in the Cross Room, and will continue on the first Friday of the month until September. Tickets are £10 a session or £40 for a season ticket.
