Chawton House Library is delighted to announce that it has been awarded a grant to support conservation and education work on the charity’s art collection. It was one of only seventeen grants made by the Golsoncott Foundation, and was chosen for support out of over a hundred applicants.
Following a successful bid to the De Laszlo Foundation earlier in the year for a conservation assessment and research on the paintings, our charity is delighted to be able to follow up this success with the very welcome gift from Golsoncott.
Their support of £1,000.00 will enable us to start conservation work and open this process to the public, via a scheme of ‘Conservation in Action’ work.
The Library holds a fascinating art collection and will be holding a talk by the conservator in October; tickets are now on sale online and by phone.
